. Pam Engelmeier | Stable Hands Equine Therapy Center

Pam Engelmeier

Volunteer Physical Therapy Consultant

I started in the first session in 1992, and never got tired of it. Still volunteering 30 yrs later! I had a client whose daughter was co-founding Stable Hands and I told her I’d like to help.

I started as a volunteer physical therapy consultant and side walker. Now I am also on the Events Committee and help find funding/apply for grants. I am a co-speaker and presenter with Diane, the Executive Director. I enjoy finding native plants for the Prairie Pollinator Path (ditch by parking area). I have been able to participate in some capacity in all of the Stable Hands programs.

In my free time, I love to spend time with my three grandchildren. My hobbies are playing the piano for nursing home church services, star gazing, kayaking wilderness lakes in WI, hiking (especially the Ice Age Trail and out west) and e-biking with my husband Rick.

I can’t say I have one favorite because I really do enjoy them all. All of the class activities produce big smiles on clients, families and volunteers, and make me feel happy, too. If I had to pick one event, I like the evening snowshoe/wine flight in February, especially the forest loop lit by the luminaries. It is a welcome break in the winter and shows off our beautiful property in a unique way.
